INSIGHTFUL DISCUSSION with Prof. Pradyumna Vyas

JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Kochi, had the privilege of hosting Prof. Pradyumna Vyas, a respected figure in design and innovation. He holds the experience of being the former Director of the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, and Senior Advisor for Design Promotion and Innovation at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). His significant contributions to the field has enabled him to share his experience among peers and faculty at JU-Kochi.

During his visit, Prof. Vyas shared insights on three key concepts: inclusivity, emphasizing designs that cater to diverse backgrounds and abilities; biomimicry, discussing how to draw inspiration from nature’s designs for innovative and sustainable solutions; and sustainability, stressing the need for environmentally conscious practices that conserve resources and minimize waste. His visit inspired the faculty and students, igniting a passion for socially responsible design. The faculty expresses sincere gratitude to Prof. Vyas for sharing his wisdom and look forward to applying his teachings in their upcoming work.
