Anusha Mahishi focuses on exploring the impact of human activities like mining and industrialization on the environment and how to reduce their adverse effects. She also works on developing methods to monitor, analyse and mitigate water pollution. She is interested in designing of colorimetric sensors using organic receptors and functionalized nanomaterials for the rapid detection of heavy metals and other toxins present in potable water. She is also interested in fabrication of in situ models such as paper strips and swab kits for the real-time application and technology validation for the colorimetric sensing of heavy metal and toxins from water.
Anusha Mahishi joined JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) in October 2021 and is currently working as a Junior Research Fellow at CRFM. She completed her B.Sc in C. S. Bembalagi college, Ramdurg. Rani Chennamma University Belagavi in 2015. Soon after the completion she worked in Brundavana High School as a science teacher for 2 years. Her interest in chemistry drew M.Sc Chemistry in P.C. Jabin science college, Hubballi (2019). Before joining Jain University she was working at BYJU's that allowed to develop her teaching skills, as well as to become more confident in her ability to explain complex topics and concepts. Additionally, her experience there inspired her to contribute to the field of research.
Anusha enjoys singing hindustani classical music, cooking, home gardening, spending time with family and friends, travelling and exploring new adventurous things.
