Mr. Ankith Shetty is investigating new functional materials for energy-related electrochemical applications. The focus is on developing electrocatalysts for renewable energy generation and storage. Studying the synthesis of nanomaterials to enhance catalytic activity and stability in energy conversion and storage processes. To better understand catalyst structure and function, utilize advanced characterization tools such as electron microscopy, X-ray spectroscopy, and computational modelling. Investigate the influence of electrolyte materials and ion transport properties on catalyst performance, especially in energy storage devices like batteries and supercapacitors.
Mr. Ankith Shetty joined the Center for Research in Functional Materials (CRFM), Jain University, as a Junior research fellow in Sept 2023. He worked as a trainee chemist in Aurigene Oncology Ltd., Bangalore, Karnataka, from Dec 2022 to Aug 2023. Ankith pursued a Master's in Industrial chemistry from Mangalore University, Mangalore, Karnataka. During his M.Sc. programme, he interned at Anthem Biosciences Pvt. Ltd. and was involved in the organic synthesis and characterization of novel organic molecules. Ankith enjoys hanging out with friends and loves to explore new things.
