Dr. K. Upendranath synthesizes the new nitrogen-substituted heterocyclic compounds using green chemistry approaches. The synthesized compounds will be photonic materials for electrochemical, forensic science, and AMOLED applications with DFT studies. The key focus is on new molecules for energy conversion and storage methods (DSSCs, AMOLEDs supercapacitors and battery studies).
Dr. K. Upendranath joined the Centre for Research in Functional Materials (CRFM), Jain University, as a Postdoctoral fellow in October 2023. Before joining CRFM, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemical Sciences, Oxford College of Science, Oxford University, HSR layout Bengaluru, India. He gained a Ph.D. in Chemical Science at the Department of Studies and Research in Chemistry from Kuvempu University in 2023. During his doctoral degree, he taught spectroscopy and inorganic chemistry topics to master students in the chemistry departments. He supervised two master’s students’ dissertation works. Besides research, his hobbies are travelling, reading novels, and listening to music.
