Dehydration Technologies Facility (DTF), Fire and Combustion Research Center, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University)
Fire and Combustion Research Center is actively involved in developing technologies in the area of fire and combustion. The research carried out in the area of advanced biomass combustion devices and valorisation of food products has culminated into a technology for dehydration of food products which can be taken to commercial scale.
FCRC-DTF is an Experience Center for Food Processing and Valorisation where the primary objective is to demonstrate technologies for processing of food/biomass (pre-processing and post processing) at a commercial level. This facility will act as a knowledge sharing center for all the stake holders – farmers, budding entrepreneurs, students, researchers and business community.
FCRC-DTF developed the technology for drying of all kind of agri-produce by integrating it with FCRC patented technology for Advanced Waste Biomass Combustion Device. This is first of its kind system in the area of dehydration as it’s encompass the efficiency, quality of dried products, economics of operation under the umbrella of sustainability. Reduced drying time as low as 4 hours, ability to dry multiple material at the same time, ultra-low electrical power consumption, use of food waste based fuel for the operation are some of its unique characteristics.
