A state of the art, NABL accredited laboratory called Underwriters Laboratories - Jain Fire Lab (ULJFL) for qualifying fire related products is established at JAIN Global Campus. ULJFL is in continuous live interaction with major players in the global fire safety industry. This arrangement has provided an excellent opportunity to develop a focused research group working in the area of fire and combustion research. ULJFL interactions are capitalized to create a research environment where frontier R & D issues of the fire industry can be analyzed to frame research questions of significance to Indian context. ULJFL and its activities has rendered credibility to the activities of the Center which can further establish relationships with renowned research groups in the areas of fire safety working in India and overseas providing a global visibility. An NABL accredited solar pump test facility is also functional which caters to qualification of solar powered pumping systems as per MNRE guidelines.
Activities of ULJFL have resulted in resolving frontier R & D issues of the fire suppression industry. Several global MNCs have utilized the expertise at ULJFL resulting in indigenization of development of specialized fire suppression products & services for Indian industry including import substitution. Activities of ULJFL can be analyzed to frame research questions of significance to Indian context. ULJFL and its activities will render credibility to the activities of the group which can further establish relationships with renowned research groups in the areas of fire safety working in India and overseas and hence provide a global visibility.
Technical expertise at FCRC is utilized by premier research organisations like DRDO-Gas Turbine Research Establishment and Bhabha Atomic Research Center.
Patented technologies exist at FCRC for Advanced Waste Biomass Combustion Devices. Application development for these dev ices are in progress.
Solving fire and combustion related problems will require engineering and technological abilities encompassing a wide range of engineering fields - civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics, computer science etc,. Regular engineering courses at PG and UG level offered by Jain (Deemed-to-be University) in these streams are benefitting from the activities of the center.
Specialized PG training programs and PhD programs in the areas of fire suppression and combustion are offered to promote knowledge dissemination.
