Padmabhushan V.K. Saraswat gives new perspectives at Jain University 4th Annual Convocation 2014

The younger generation must play the crucial role in realizing India’s aspiration for ‘global leadership’ and I am sure you will rise to the occasion said Padma Bhushan Dr.V.K. Saraswat.
Speaking at the 4th Annual Convocation at Jain University, the chief guest Dr. V.K. Saraswat said, “Science and technology in the last century made an unprecedented impact on the life of human race. It is heartening to see the rapid developments that are taking place in our country during the last three decades. We believe in knowledge and benefits it can bring to our living. I am also aware of the aspirations and hardships of our people and the great expectations they have for improving their quality of life”.
“There are enough intellectual challenges ahead as we undertake several new developments and newer programs as we traverse through the passage of excellence. The domain of Science & Technology is truly exciting, challenging and rewarding as it opens up multi-disciplinary approach to the problems. Of course, it demands people with great intellect and even greater determination and commitment. I see a sea of enlightened faces in front of me who definitely have those to be a part of this exciting world in some way or other.” he said and appreciated the students.
The degrees were conferred to 2422 meritorious students from Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research programs in the fields of Engineering & Technology, Commerce, Management, Economics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Physics, Psychology, Music, Dance, Mass Communication, English, Kannada and Sanskrit. The university also felicitated 101 rank holders and 53 gold medalists, and 19 Ph.D. & 30 M.Phil. laureates.
Dr. Asha Crasta, Ph.D., gold medalist said “I am overwhelmed with joy; it’s a very special day for me. Jain University gave me an opportunity to pursue my research in an inter-disciplinary field. I am thankful to Jain University for helping me in making my dreams come true."
The convocation was presided by Dr. C G Krishnadas Nair, Chancellor, Jain University and Dr. N Sundararajan, Vice Chancellor, Jain University, Prof. N.V.H.Krishnan, Registrar, Jain University, Dr. Sandeep Shastri, Pro Vice Chancellor, Jain University, Members of the Board of Management & Academic Council, deans of faculty and staff of Jain University, the graduating students, their parents and guests from the industry.
